Depsite missing out on a race win in Durban for the South African round of the A1 Grand Prix, Team Switzerland and driver Neel Jani could at least look at the points haul courtesy of a second and third place finish.

Jani had looked set to take the race win on the longer race of the weekend at the Durban street course, but the punishing track had worked its evil on the brakes of the Swiss Lola and Jani was unable to deny Team Netherland's Jos Verstappen the race win.

"The race is always a different story," Jani
said afterwards. "My starting position was not too bad for
the sprint race and we were consistent and finished on
the podium at a difficult track. We needed to
score as many points as possible here to catch up
with France.

"In the feature race it was great to
take the lead from France right at the start but
right at the end I had some brake problems and
had to let Verstappen go past while making sure I
made it to the finish and scored as many points as possible."
