After three years away from single seater action, Christian Fittipaldi enjoyed his stint in Indonesia driving for Team Brazil with a drive from twentieth to fourth in the Feature race.

Fittipaldi took over the spot vacated by Nelson Piquet Jr in the championship which pitches nation against nation and the former Minardi and Footwork F1 driver moved forwards in both races at the Sentul race circuit, but suffered contact with the Team Italy car in the first race.

"The first race was a shame because we started at the back and then Italy made contact with me so I had to pit to repair the damage and we were a lap down then, but we were really fast," explains Fittipali, who competed in Champ Car from 1995 to 2002. "We changed the car a bit for the second race, and we actually went the wrong way because the car was better in the first race, but we got a good result."

Fittipaldi has started the Sprint race from 21st on the grid after suffering a difficult qualifying session on Saturday. It started well, and by lap three Christian had made up four places to 17th. But the collision with Team Italy meant he was forced to make a pitstop on lap 6 which meant he was a lap down on the rest of the field, and the result was 20th place.

The Feature race was far better, with Fittipaldi up to fifteenth place at the end of the first lap, and an early dive for the compulsory pistop when the first safety car came out. By lap 22 the yellow and green car was in eighth position, with two cars ahead of it still to pit. A few overtaking manoeuvres later and Christian was in fourth position, putting pressure on third-placed Team Australia right up until the chequered flag.

"I am really happy with today's result," said Christian after taking fourth. "It was good to finish the race and score some points. The team trusted in me, so to do this is the minimum I can do!"

"We've made huge progress over the weekend, and I was more and more comfortable as I got used to being in a single-seater again. I think the format of A1 Grand Prix is fantastic, I loved the two races and I think it's an awesome show for the fans."
