Christian Fittipaldi will aim to make the most of his past experience of the Laguna Seca circuit as the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport arrives in California for the penultimate round of the season this weekend.

The Team Brazil driver has competed at Laguna Seca on numerous occasions in the past during his time in Champ Cars and will be looking to overhaul Team GB in the battle for third place in the championship standings - Robbie Kerr having secured a three point buffer in what has become a four way battle for the place between GB, Brazil, the Netherlands and New Zealand.

"I think this weekend should be good," Fittipaldi said. "Overall, our performance in Mexico was stronger than in Indonesia, despite the results. The programme was better and we were more competitive so I have every reason to believe this weekend we can make even more progress. I have a lot of experience at Laguna Seca, I raced here every year from 1995 to 2002, and also tested a lot too. I heard that the Corkscrew has changed a little since then but I don't think it will be too different.

"This weekend we will try to finish on the podium and I really want to try to win one of the two races, and get back up to third in the championship. The competition will be tough, but we have the capability."
