With the announcement that Darren Manning will step into the Team Great Britain car for the final round of the A1 Grand Prix Championship in China, Robbie Kerr is looking complete a fruitful stint with the team on the ultimate high at Laguna Seca.

The former British Formula Three champion has occupied the Team GBR seat since the first round in Brand Hatch but having scored a deal to race in the World Series, testing duties mean Kerr will be handing over his seat to former IRL driver Manning for the closing round in Shanghai.

However, despite having recently wrestled the third place spot from Brazil in the standings, Kerr is yet to take the Union Jack onto the top of the podium and that is exactly where he is aiming for around the legendary Californian circuit.

"I'm looking forward to the races and I'm focusing on what we need to do," he said. "The circuit's good and there'll be a few surprises - you can't predict how the car's going to be on the track but I think there'll be a few corners that will really suit the car.

"It's a case of heads down and going out there to be at the front as always. We should have been there before now but for whatever reason we've not made that top step and that's where we want to be."

Should Kerr finally grab that elusive victory, it would mirror that of Sean McIntosh who took Team Canada's maiden win in the series in his final race. Coincidently, McIntosh will be joining Kerr at KTR, which can only be a good omen.
