Team Malaysia got off to a good start at the final round of the A1 Grand Prix Championship in China, with Alex Yoong posting top five fastest times in both sessions.

Currently tenth in the standings but not far off a number of countries ahead, driver Alex Yoong managed second fastest in the first session, backing that up with fifth in the second, leaving him confident that he can make a late bid for a better championship position at Shaghai.

"As the first season of A1 Grand Prix draws to a close we are tenth in the championship standings, but, only sixteen points separate the fourth placed team and ourselves in tenth. The competition is so close we could improve on this if we can have two good race finishes. This will be our goal for the weekend."
