Jos Verstappen gave his eager Dutch fans a taster of what they can expect when the second A1 Grand Prix season makes its bow at the Zandvoort circuit in October, with a spectacular demonstration around the circuit.

With tickets for the season curtain raiser nearly sold out some two months before the race, the first round of the championship promises to be an overwhelming success with Verstappen showing exactly what will be on offer to fans gathering for the BP Ultimate Masters of Formula Three this weekend.

Verstappen, who returns to A1 GP this year having claimed one victory last year on the way to seventh in the championship, wowed the crowds with three laps of the circuit, together with copious amount of smoke billowing 'doughnuts' afterwards.

"I felt at home quite fast", he said after the demo. This is a very spectacular circuit, especially with this car. It is awesome to drive here right now with the A1 car".

He was later joined on track by Jan Lammers in his Racing for Holland Dome S101 Hb Judd and Jeroen Bleekemolen in the Spyker C8R currently competing in the Le Mans Series, going to prove Dutch motorsport is currently in rude health.
