Tens of thousands of fans have taken to the streets of Rotterdam to cheer on two A1GP cars during the Bavaria City Racing event in the Dutch city.

Jos Verstappen took to the streets in the A1 Team Netherlands car, while team seat holder Jan Lammers was also in action at the wheel of the black 'A1GP World Cup of Motorsport' car which had been flown into Holland especially for the event.

The two drivers completed two laps of the circuit on the Rotterdam streets, with Verstappen admitting it had been an enjoyable experience.

"You can actually drive quite fast here, I even hit 220 km/h briefly," the former F1 racer - one of the most strongly supported drivers in the series last season - said. "There are so many spectactors along the circuit. You try to do donuts at as many places as possible and to give everyone along the circuit the same show. This is really fantastic."

Lammers also enjoyed his first taste of the A1GP car, pointing out just how vocal the support of the fans along the sides of the streets had been.

"This is super, there is such a big audience," he said. "You drive here at 14,000 revs and still you hear the crowd!"
