Oliver Jarvis has his sights set on possibly racing with A1 Team Great Britain after being confirmed as part of a three driver line-up for the second season of the World Cup of Motorsport.

The Carlin F3 driver joins Robbie Kerr and Darren Manning - both of whom raced for the team last season - in the line-up selected by seat holder John Surtees following successful tests at both Pembrey and Silverstone.

Although initially expected to perform testing duties on the Friday of A1 weekends, Jarvis said he was hopeful of getting the chance to line up on the grid in a race situation later in the season.

"At the moment it looks more likely that I'll be involved as the rookie Friday tester but I feel that if I do a good a job - and having spoken to Mr Surtees - that there is the chance to maybe race the car later in the season," he told Crash.net. "For me that is an exciting prospect and it will keep me busy over the winter and allow me to fine tune my race craft so that I'm ready for next season when it starts.

"There is an immense sense of pride to be involved, as any time you can represent your country in any sport is a great feeling and achievement. From my point of view, I am delighted to be involved and I think that A1 is a great concept. Hopefully it will be a great season for both the Great Britain team and A1 as a whole."

Jarvis added that he was looking forward to working alongside both Kerr and Manning and said he was keen to push both drivers for the one race seat available.

"It's going to be interesting to see the different approaches and driving styles of both Robbie and Darren," he said. "I feel that I can learn from both of them but am also at that level where I can push them and, given a chance, I'll be up there pushing for the race seat."
