A1 Team Lebanon have confirmed their entry for the 06/07 season of the A1 Grand Prix Championship by unveiling a comprehensive four man line-up they hope will see them perform considerably better than they did last season.

Although they failed to score a single point last season, Lebanon showed considerable promise through the year, not least in the final few rounds when American Graham Rahal joined the squad by virtue of his origins with the Middle Eastern country.

Unsurprisingly, Rahal, who is gunning for the Champ Car Atlantic title this weekend at Road America and is expected to make the step to Champ Cars next season, has been tapped once again by Team Lebanon, although he won't be available to race at the season opener in Zandvoort.

That honour will fall to Khalil Beschir or Basil Shaaban, stalwarts of the team from last season, while Rahal is expected to race for the team at the second round of the series at Brno, Czech Republic.

The fourth seat will be claimed by Alex Khateeb, who has done enough in an under whelming season in British Formula Three for Promatecme to merit a place in the squad. He has been integrated into the team to make use of the 'rookie practice session' being adopted for this season to aid up and coming youngsters - neither Rahal, Beschir or Shaaban are eligible to take advantage of this.

"We've retained our drivers from the first year of A1GP which gives us continuity and the scope to keep developing the team over the course of the season," said Team Lebanon seatholder Tameem Auchi.

"We welcome Alex to the team and to give him the chance to experience the power and performance of the A1GP car in the rookie session. We have four young, committed, talented drivers who will be proud to represent Lebanon in the A1GP Series and we're looking forward to the first race in the Netherlands next week."
