American Le Mans Series driver, Jason Workman will be joined again by Laguna Seca co-driver, Scott Bradley as the driving duo compete in the Grand Prix Americas at Miami's downtown racing circuit on Saturday, September 27. The ALMS event is part of the highly anticipated return event through the streets of downtown Miami.

For Workman, Miami represents the chance to continue his impressive record in the LMP675 category - he's currently fourth in the championship points.

With points in six of seven events this year, and six in a row, the Atlanta area driver is on the verge of a sensational debut season. No other driver in the LMP675 has scored points as consistently as Workman. It is a record that enables the personable Workman to close the gap between himself and the championship leader to only 16 points.

"Consistency, my co-drivers, the valuable assistance of the entire Essex Racing crew and the reliability of the Nissan powerplant has brought us to this point," commented Workman. "I am really excited to find ourselves in this position going into Miami, to be followed by the season ending Petit Le Mans at our home track of Road Atlanta. If we can manage to bring home some additional points here in Miami, I expect that we will pull out all the stops for the Petit Le Mans race. It is going to be an exciting conclusion to an exciting season!"

It is indeed a close championship, particularly second through to seventh. But now, the gap between first place holder, Chris Dyson and upstart Workman has narrowed to only 16 points. With the endurance oriented Petit Le Mans event looming as the finale, it is a title chase that could go down to the wire.

The Miami event is filled with excitement, concerts and events to entertain the expected huge crowds. Autograph sessions, personal appearances and even serving as a judge in the "Miss Grand Prix Americas" competition will keep Workman busy all week leading up to the race on Saturday afternoon.

"Miami is sure to be a fun race for me as well as the fans," added Workman. "If we finish again in the points, it will be a very memorable event and set the stage for a superb finale at Road Atlanta."
