Bryan Herta says he feels that consistency could be the key factor in Andretti Green Racing going for the American Le Mans Series title in 2008.

The team will head into its second season of ALMS competition with a new version of the Acura ARX but will aim to benefit from the fact that the schedule for the new season is the same as in 2007 - meaning both team and drivers will have experience of the tracks they will compete on.

"From a competitive standpoint it's good for us," Herta said. "We know the venues and what the challenges are for each. Consistency and equity are key attributes. It takes a couple of years to build that, and from a series standpoint it couldn't have worked out much better."

Herta will benefit next season from having a full-time partner in the XM Satellite-backed machine in the shape of Christian Fittipaldi and Herta admitted that it will be another key factor in the team chasing success.

"I think having the consistency of a full-time driver is certainly better for the goal of trying to win a championship," he said. "It has to be better to have the same co-driver every week. He's a guy I've raced against a lot in the past. He has a lot of sports car experience, although he hasn't raced in the American Le Mans Series. Christian brings a lot to the team with his experience and I'll be surprised if that doesn't make us stronger."
