Ian Lowry says his transition from a Supersport to a Superbike machine is proving to be a natural step for him after he completed a full day of running at Brands Hatch.

Lowry graduates to the Superbike class for the first time with Relentless by TAS Suzuki in 2009 after a successful tenure with the team in the Supersport category.

Having already experienced the Suzuki GSX-R1000 during a run at Kirkistown earlier this month, this was Lowry's debut on the bike around a familiar BSB circuit and he is impressed with how it has gone so far.

"I am really happy, the Relentless Suzuki is just mint and it has been going really well again today despite not having very many dry laps," he told the British Superbike website. "It seems every time we go out it rains! I am really clicking with the bike now I have spent some more time on it and I am surprised at how natural it feels for me after being on a Supersport bike.

"We have been spending most of today working on the suspension as at the moment we are losing time onto the main straight out of Clearways, but when we were out in the dry we were seeing improvement straight away after making some changes.

With one more outing scheduled at Bishopscourt before the opening round of the season in a fortnight's time, Lowry is feeling prepared for his new endeavour.

"We now know which direction we are going to head in when we get to Brands Hatch so that is a big step forward. We are out again this weekend at Bishopscourt, which the team do every year as a bit of a warm-up to the first BSB races of the year. It will be a good trial run for me and then we can focus on Brands Hatch and those first races!"
