Micron have announced that they will be supporting the all new British Junior Superstock Championship this season - by providing technical support and guidance at every round, together with silencer kits at greatly reduced costs.

The Junior Superstock Championship, which is already attracting major interest, in terms of entries, is open to riders aged between 16-23 years and is designed to give upcoming talent a solid structure, amid a professional racing environment, around which to develop their careers.

"We see this championship as a key footstep for young and upcoming riders. We are keen to support the sport across the board - already we have an involvement at the highest levels, and now we see this as an important starter for the stars of tomorrow with whom we want to have a long and successful association," said John Charlesworth, the Micron Product Manager.

Additional to supply of product at advantageous prices, Micron, will be adding spice to qualifying by putting up a pole position award at every round - the winning rider will be able to chose either a cash award of 100-pounds, or take a 150-pound voucher for Micron products.

Micron will provide a technical support service at each round, offering resleeving and exchange, while before the season starts, they will liaise with the BSB/MCRCB Technical panel to undertake dyno tests for each competing model permitted into the championship, setting base power figures and permitted carburation changes where applicable.

"We are delighted that Micron have come on board with us, their support, both in terms of product and service, gives this exciting championship another boost," said Jos Foulston, the British Superbike series director, adding " as with our link with Metzeler, the official tyre supplier, the use of Micron across the series provides a level playing field, with rider ability the key to success."

The British Junior Superstock Championship will feature at all 2001 British Superbike Championship events, commencing at Donington Park on Sunday 1 April.
