Shane Byrne can confirm his spot in the 2014 British Superbike Championship Title Showdown with two rounds remaining this weekend with another strong performance at Oulton Park.

The Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki rider has been the dominant force in BSB this season, his double win from the opening round at Brands Hatch making him the man to beat from the very opening round.

In 12 races, Byrne has notched up six wins and a further five podiums, a tally that has seen him establish an 82 point advantage over second place rider Josh Brookes alone.

It also means his 149 point advantage over Tommy Bridewell in seventh means he simply needs to continue his form at the Oulton Park triple header this weekend to ensure that he takes the first of six spots available for the 2014 Title Showdown.

"Oulton Park hopefully will be another good round for us; we have won there this year already earlier in the season. We had two second places at Thruxton, but because I want to be winning and we have been recently, finishing second last weekend seemed so difficult. I believe that is testament to what we have done so far."

However, since the points' gap means relatively little at this stage due to the relative equalisation of the 'Title Showdown' format, Byrne heads to Oulton Park eager to add to his 45 podium credits.

"I want to get to Oulton Park and try and get back winning again and we have three races to do it; that is a big point's haul for the championship and we need to nick them. For sure I think there will be some other riders up there this weekend but it would be great to get a win or three for Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki."
