Ducati UK today announced that the start of the Ducati Monster S4 Challenge race series has been delayed.

Due to commence over the Easter weekend as a support class at the opening round of the British Superbike championship at Silverstone, the Challenge will now be launched in May.

Originally scheduled to run over 10 rounds, the Challenge series has now been consolidated and will take place at six venues provisionally including five BSB rounds and the UK World Endurance round.

"It is very disappointing to have to delay the series in this manner," commented Piero Guidi, Managing Director of Ducati UK.

He continued: "However, for various reasons we have not at this time obtained the level of participation we had hoped for to ensure the Challenge will be the spectacle it should be."

Jos Foulston of British Motorsport Promoters [BMP] added: "We remain committed to supporting Ducati with this fantastic concept and look forward to seeing the Challenge at future rounds of the series."

Ducati UK will announce full details of the new calendar together with a revised entry package shortly.
