Ducati UK has today released details of the revised 2002 Monster S4 Challenge. The series has now been consolidated into a six round championship taking in some of the UK's top circuits.

The Challenge will continue to be a part of the British Superbike Championship and run as a single make series where all participants are on equal machinery provided and maintained by Ducati.

The overall series winner will participate in a test with the HM Plant Ducati World Superbike team prior to the start of the 2003 WSB season. He or she will ride a Ducati race-bike during the test beside the HM Plant / GSE riders including Neil Hodgson. The test is likely to take place abroad and the winner will ride either a 998RS or 748RS race-bike prepared by GSE.

Ducati UK has simplified the Challenge entry criteria and associated costs. The available options are now as follows:

Option 1: Entry in all Championship rounds and ownership of one of the Monster S4 race-bikes used in the series at the end of the season. The cost of this option is ?10,000 including VAT.

Option 2: Entry in all Championship rounds with all of the benefits listed below. Cost: ?5,000 inc. VAT.

Option 3: Entry in 3 rounds of the series benefits as below, subject to availability. Cost is ?3,000 inc. VAT.

The revised calendar is as follows:

May 4-6, Oulton Park
June 1-3, Snetterton
August 9-11, Thruxton
August 24-26, Cadwell Park
August 30 - September 1, Oulton Park
September 27-29, Donington Park

The series is open to holders of ACU Clubman and first year National licenses. Consideration will also be given to holders of National licenses for more than one year that have limited National class experience.
