Fujitsu Siemens Computers, the leading European vendor of Mobility and Business Critical Computing solutions, has announced a three-year IT partnership with V&M Racing, the UK's longest established motorcycle-racing team.

The company has worked closely with V&M Racing to develop and deploy a comprehensive headquarters and trackside IT support infrastructure that features the latest Wireless LAN and mobile computing technologies. The new Fujitsu Siemens Computers solution will ensure that V&M Racing personnel have secure access to key racing and engineering data throughout the 2002 campaign race weekends - irrespective of location.

As part of its agreement, Fujitsu Siemens Computers will provide V&M Racing with a range of technology solutions, including high performance CELSIUS workstations for engineering and development, SCENIC desktop PCs, LifeBook notebook PCs, PRIMERGY Intel-based servers and state-of-the-art Wireless LAN connectivity. This powerful technology infrastructure features the latest Microsoft (R) Windows XP Professional software which gives V&M Racing the technology they need to power their team infrastructure, leaving them free to focus on the development, engineering and preparation that leads to results on the track.

"Fujitsu Siemens Computers has a great product range - from its LifeBook notebook PCs right through to the most powerful enterprise server systems, and we're delighted to use the company's equipment to support our 2002 racing programme," commented V&M Racing spokesperson, Richard Town. "There's a very fine line between winning and losing in motorcycle racing, and we know that anytime, anywhere access to our critical engineering and racing data will be a key advantage for the team during race weekends. We're proud to be associated with Europe's leading computer company, and look forward to continued success during 2002 and beyond."

"When V&M Racing competes at the track, anytime access to critical racing information is essential. Our clear focus on Mobility and Business Critical Computing delivers exactly the right technology balance for the team, and we're excited to have the opportunity to battle-test our solutions in the toughest conditions," added Mel Taylor, UK Marketing Director for Fujitsu Siemens Computers. "Mobility and Business Critical Computing goes beyond simple devices such as notebooks and servers to encompass all the different elements needed to give organisations such as V&M Racing the flexibility and reliability they want. With our expanding range of Mobility products, solutions and services, we're ideally placed to help V&M Racing use innovative technologies such as Wireless LAN to gain real competitive advantage."
