The 2014 MCE British Superbike Championship concludes at Brands Hatch this weekend with Shane Byrne in the best position to go down in history as the first rider to win four BSB titles.

Two wins from the last three races have seen Byrne protect a 12 point lead over sole title rival and fellow three-time champion Ryuichi Kiyonari heading into the Brands Hatch triple header, with both knowing that a fourth title success will ensure their place in the record books.

For Byrne, who lost out on the 2013 BSB title in a final round head-to-head Alex Lowes last year, the Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki rider says he will be aiming for nothing less than wins in all three races to assure glory regardless.

"This is a really big weekend which we've worked all year to get to and it's a situation I've found myself in many times before. Both me and the team know what we need to do and the plan is as it always has been, and that's to go out and win races.

"There's no point worrying about anyone else, I've trained harder than ever and I'm in the best shape possible, so all I'm doing is concentrating on winning all three races and if I do that, I'll be British Champion."
