Juan Kinnish extended his lead in the Shell Advance backed Ducati Monster S4 Challenge this weekend winning round 2 of the UK's premier one make race series at a cloudy Snetterton race circuit.

Starting from the back of the grid due to a problem on the warm-up lap, Kinnish set a fast pace straight away, fighting his way through the field in the first two laps.

"I knew I'd got to work hard starting from the back, and I made a lot of progress on the first lap. It was really fierce out there to start with, but I managed to get some good lines and get past quite a few riders early on," commented Kinnish.

Newarks Carl Ogden battled to take second place and his second podium finish of the championship. "I really enjoyed it today, and I'm really pleased to finish on the podium again," commented Ogden. "I had a couple of moments later in the race as I was pushing really hard, but I'm looking for the win at round 3 now."

Mark Cheetham from Bolton finished third after pushing hard in the final stages of the race, to beat Gary Byrne who finished fourth. "It really came together towards the end and with a few more laps I'm sure I could of caught Carl and maybe even passed him," commented Cheetham.

Juan Kinnish leads the championship now by 14 points over second placed Carl Ogden who leads third placed rider Duncan Burns by just 6 points so far.

The next S4 Challenge round is at Thruxton race circuit on the 11th August.
