The British Superbike circus returns to the South of England this weekend as the Brands Hatch full international circuit plays host to Britain's premier motorsport series.

With Steve Hislop struggling to keep his grip on the championship lead and reigning champion John Reynolds desperate for his first win, we can look forward to plenty of action around the demanding Kent track.

This weekend marks the second event of the year for Ulsterman Adrian Coates. After a strong performance in his first outing on the Padgett's Suzuki at Snetterton and a further two weeks recuperation time, the 2001 250cc British Champion is full of confidence and keen to improve on his previous tenth place finish.

Coates' team-mate and fellow countryman Marty Nutt continues to build on his consistent performances in the earlier rounds and we can expect some determined riding from the 2001 Sunflower winner as he sets out to ensure he's not eclipsed by his more experienced team-mate.

In the 125cc class 2001 British Champion Leon Camier will be absent from Brands Hatch after receiving an offer he couldn't refuse from the Italjet team to ride in this weekend's Catalunya Grand Prix, leaving 2001 BMCRC Champion Daniel Coutts to fly the flag for the Padgett's Junior team. Coutts will be hoping for better luck than last time at Brands Hatch when his race ended on the first lap after a clash with another rider.
