Tommy Bridewell says he's thrilled to be back on Suzuki machinery as it's a bike he's naturally gelling with having started Spanish pre-season testing in earnest.

The Wiltshire rider has joined Bennetts Suzuki for the 2016 MCE British Superbike championship, with Christian Iddon heading in the opposite direction to his former ride with Tyco BMW, and makes his return to Suzuki since 2009 when he raced for Team NB Suzuki in BSB.

Bridewell has just completed a four-day pre-season test at Cartagena alongside new team-mate Ryuichi Kiyonari and a number of BSB rival teams. The 27-year-old says he's thrilled to be on a bike he's immediately comfortable on having spent a chunk of 2015 fighting to find a positive set-up and rhythm with BMW.

"This test has been mega, really positive," Bridewell said. "The first day was just me learning the bike, but we got straight to work from day two onwards. We just chucked stuff at the bike, and experimented with forks, swingarms, geometry, everything. We're learning lots but I've really gelled with the bike.

"The Suzuki's chassis is so good, and so comfortable, and it's good to be back on one. We've got lots more to try at Guadix, and want to back-to-back test a few things, but I'm really enjoying riding the GSX-R and almost feel ready to go and race at Silverstone already."

Bridewell and Bennetts Suzuki will now switch to Guadix for a final Spanish test before heading back to the UK to finalise its preparations for the new season.
