Luke Mossey says it is a 'dream come true' to take his maiden MCE British Superbike pole position and wants to carry that momentum into a front three battle at Brands Hatch Indy.

After topping both opening qualifying knockout sessions the Quattro Plant Kawasaki rider grabbed pole in the shootout with a 45.275s - a time which put him within a tenth of a second from the lap record - to displace James Ellison from top spot for his first pole in BSB.

The Cambridgeshire rider in just his second season in the Superbike class says his initial targets had been to get inside the top six but after realising the full potential of his Kawasaki ZX-10R around the Indy configuration of the Brands Hatch track felt the pole lap was in his grasp.

"After being sixth overall yesterday I felt pretty happy but not felt I'd produced my best lap over the weekend until qualifying so I knew we had a little bit more in the bag," Mossey said. "I would have been happy anywhere on the first two rows so to get pole it is a dream come true.

"The team has been working well all weekend and we knew we had this pace just needed a bit of luck. Over the moon with pole so hopefully we can get our first rostrum of the year tomorrow."

With one eye on the two races on Sunday, Mossey says his goal will to be to stay inside the top three over the first lap and measure his race pace against his front-running rivals.

"Now I've got to do 30 of them tomorrow so it is going to be a little bit tougher," he said. "We need to be top three going up to Druids on the opening lap and the race should pan out well from there."
