Qualifying for the fourth round of the MCE British Superbike championship at Knockhill has been suspended by heavy rain which has made track conditions unsafe to run.

After a dry Q1 ran without problem the dark clouds overhead gave way to a sudden rain downpour and despite Danny Buchan, Lee Jackson and Jakub Smrz heading out for the start of Q2 the session was red-flagged due to the conditions.

Track marshals are currently attending to the Scottish circuit attempting to clear the standing water as the session remains suspended.

At the end of Q1 Leon Haslam topped the times with a 48.196s in dry conditions, while notably Bennetts Suzuki's Tommy Bridewell and ePayMe Yamaha's Stuart Easton dropped out of the opening knockout session.
