This weekend bears witness to the final round of the BSB championship at Donington Park where some of the best Superbike riders in the world will be hoping to end the season on a high - and Hawk Kawasaki's Glen Richards and Mark Burr are no exception.

Glen Richards has had an incredible maiden season on the Hawk Kawasaki ZX-7RR Superbike. After competing in the Supersport and Superstock series during 2001, Richards made the jump to the premier domestic class and wasted no time in adapting to the power and manoeuvrability of the 750cc machine as he quickly set about exploring the superior level of grip provided by the Dunlop slicks.

While the eyes of many may currently be focused on Steve Hislop and Sean Emmett's tussle for the championship title, Richards' rapid progress during the season has not gone unnoticed. After recording a string of top six finishes, he is full of confidence and determined to make it onto the podium before the end of the season.

"I reckon I should have a good couple of races at Donington," declared Richards. "I had a good run on the National circuit earlier this year and I've got the bike set-up so much better now than I had then. 750's go well there and last year Michael Rutter put a Kawasaki on the rostrum in the Superbike race. I know the track well and finished second in the Superstock race in 2001, so I'm feeling pretty confident. I've has a good season so far and don't really have anything to prove, so it'll just be business as usual."

Mark Burr's aim for the final round of the championship is quite simple - to get his best results of the year.

"This is my last chance of the season to get a couple of good finishes," explained the 21-year-old rider of the #22 Hawk Kawasaki. "Regular top ten finishes are well within my capabilities but I've had a fair amount of bad luck this year. The last time we came to Donington I was really struggling to get the bike set up but it's a lot better now and that should make a huge difference.

"I want to stay with Hawk Kawasaki for next year and the best way to show this is with a couple of good results. I was forced to miss the second race at Mallory, so it feels like ages since I've raced and I just can't wait to get on with it!" added Burr.
