Team Rizla Suzuki rider John Reynolds is setting his sights on Silverstone victory as the double BSB champion starts the new season with renewed determination, fitness and confidence after promising off-season developments on his GSX-R1000.

"The time for talking is over and now it is time for action," stated JR. "During the off-season we have enjoyed some very successful tests and made real progress in bike set-up and in overall performance. I am fitter than ever before and have really taken my training seriously through the winter.

"We have a package that should win plenty of races this season, despite the incredibly stiff opposition, and let me put together a title challenge," added Reynolds. "It's no secret that second this year will not be good enough for me, I'm in it to win it and nothing else."

For 2003, Reynolds will be paired with Japanese Factory Suzuki rider Yukio Kagayama, who will be making his BSB debut this Sunday.

"I have managed to record similar times to John during testing and I am happy with the performance of my Rizla Suzuki GSX-R1000," said the 28 year old. "In the UK I have the problem of learning every track from scratch before racing, which gives me a big challenge. But I have ridden the bike alongside my main competitors already and I think I can do well in this series. If I can keep up with John, which I hope I can, then I'll be fighting with him for the race wins and podiums."

"The competition is extremely tough, especially the full factory Ducatis and Honda, and if we can run with these machines, that will be the ultimate accolade for our modified street-bike Suzuki GSX-R1000," said Team Manager Paul Denning.

"No matter how hard we worked before though, the real work starts now with the racing. In my years as Team Manager we have had plenty of ups and downs but I can't remember going into a season feeling as positive as we are this year," Denning admitted. "The preparation has been extensive, the bike is fast and handling well and we have two top-flight riders capable of winning races. Roll on Silverstone."

At Silverstone, Rizla Suzuki's newest team members Jay Kay from Jamiroquai and the actress/model Lisa B will both be on-hand to support the riders.
