Honda Racing's Karl Harris qualified on the front row of the grid for the second round of the British Supersport Championship at Snetterton.

The 23-year-old Yorkshireman will line up in fourth position alongside Stuart Easton, Leon Haslam and Simon Andrews for Sunday's 22-lap race at the 1.952 mile circuit in Norfolk.

Harris, winer last time out at Silverstone, recorded a superb time of 1min 09.250secs - an impressive 0.498 seconds inside the existing lap record. There are only two seconds covering the top 26 riders and so another close Supersport race is expected following a narrow first round victory by Harris at Silverstone two weeks ago.

"I gave everything during qualifying today and I am really pleased that I have managed to get on the front of the grid for the second consecutive race," said Harris. "I must admit that Snetterton is not a circuit where I have enjoyed much success in the past, but the Honda Racing CBR600RR is giving me every opportunity to improve my record here this weekend.

"The two fast straights here mean that if you get into someone's slipstream then it can give you an advantage in qualifying. I know that I did my best time under my own steam so I'm confident of running at the front in tomorrow's race," stated Karl. "I've found a good set-up and that should help me to stay with the leaders. It's going to be one of the most competitive events of the season, but I'll use my head and hope that I can get on to the podium."
