Karl Harris has qualified in third position on his Honda Racing CBR600RR for the sixth round of the British Supersport Championship at Brands Hatch.

The series leader ended the final qualifying session just 0.1 seconds down on fellow Honda rider Dean Thomas, with Simon Andrews in second. Stuart Easton completes the front row for tomorrow's 18-lap race over the 2.6-mile GP circuit.

The Honda Racing team has been making good progress all weekend in preparing Harris for one of the most eagerly anticipated races of the season. Harris is happy with his race set-up and is looking forward to racing the CBR on his favourite track for the first time.

"I've been working really hard all weekend because this race is really important to me and Honda Racing," explained the 23-year-old Yorkshireman who enjoys a 51-point advantage in the title race. "So far it's been going well and I know that we'll be up there with the leaders tomorrow. I'll be giving it 110 per cent in pursuit of my fourth win of the year and hope that this will be enough to extend my championship lead.

"I'm a bit frustrated that I narrowly missed out on pole position, but I had a couple of distractions on my fast lap toward the end of the session. First, there was an incident at Paddock Hill Bend and I had to back off a bit. Then, I came across a slower rider at Hawthorne Bend and had to ride round the outside of him. So, if you take all that into consideration, I'm satisfied with my front row qualifying position."
