Karl Harris and Honda Racing could be celebrating victory in the British Supersport Championship on Bank Holiday Monday.

It is already a special event for the team, being based at nearby Louth in Lincolnshire. However, it would be the perfect weekend if Harris could clinch his second British Supersport title - in three years.

The mathematics are simple: If he wins the tenth round of the British Supersport Championship, he will be the undisputed champion. It would be his sixth win of the year and would give him an unbeatable 50-point advantage with only two rounds remaining at Brands Hatch and Donington Park.

"I am very excited about the prospect of racing at Cadwell Park. Honda Racing is based close to the circuit and I also consider it to be my local event," said Karl. "The prospect of winning the championship in front of my home fans would be awesome. There's always a fantastic atmosphere there over the bank holiday and this would certainly add to the prospect of clinching the title.

"I was delighted with how I rode last weekend at Oulton Park," he added. "I was determined to prove a point after what happened at Mondello when I ran off the track on the last lap. In my opinion I rode as well as I have done all year. However, I won't be getting carried away. I'll be focusing on Cadwell as I have done at every other round this season. It isn't over until the fat lady sings - even if she's humming in the build-up to the weekend!"
