A pair of official world record attempts will be just two of the highlights at the annual Scott Leathers Open Days in Barnard Castle this forthcoming weekend [Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st August].

Local stunt rider Dave Coates from Darlington will be going for the record of 22 'doughnuts' - where he stands on the footrests of his bike with the rear wheel spinning as he performs circles - and Australian Matt 'The Kangaroo Kid' Coulter will be attempting an amazing nine consecutive forward rolls in his specially adapted caged quad bike.

Also at the show held at the company's premises in Stainton Grove Industrial Estate will be stars from the world of superbike racing including the new British Superbike Champion Shane Byrne.

Just a week after clinching the title, 'Shakey' will be celebrating his success along with former superbike star Jamie Whitham and current Moto GP rider Chris Burns. Also on hand will be Hawk Kawasaki teamsters Glen Richards and Scott Smart as well as TT winner John McGuinness and twice British Supersport Champion John Crawford. Local hero Dennis Hobbs, who works for the firm as sales manager, will also be in attendance to meet fans.

Whitham, who retired earlier this year, will be acting as MC for the weekend's chat shows and with his dry Yorkshire humour; he is bound to be a sure fire hit with the large crowd that is expected to descend on County Durham.

In addition there will be a static display from the leading superbike teams including MonsterMob Ducati who will also have Byrne's championship winning factory Ducati F02 on display.

There will be a factory tour and the opportunity to purchase discount clothing over the weekend and what's more, admission to the Scott Spectacular is absolutely free.
