The ACU Academy, the UK's elite school for aspiring motorcycle road racers, has issued its annual invitation to any young hopeful to attend a selection day at Rockingham Motor Speedway on Monday 10 November.

Whilst any young rider who holds an ACU road race licence, and is aged between 12-17 can attend, only those who can meet strict criteria will be eligible for selection to the Academy. The purpose of the selection day is to pick out the most promising young talents in the UK, who will then progress on to the interview stage of the selection process.

To qualify for selection riders must...

o be between 13 and 17 years of age;o have at least one year's road race experience;o have a fully-costed racing plan for 2004;o believe that they are 'the best';o and, most importantly, want to be a champion more than anything else!

Some of the Academy's existing stars will be on hand to help spot the next generation, with Kieran Clarke, Tom Sykes, Barry Burrell and Tom Bridewell already confirmed and expecting to be joined by some big names from the BSB.

Anyone who would like to attend the free Rockingham selection day should send name, address, date of birth and ACU licence number to:
