Simon Andrews has his sights set on British Supersport glory after signing to stay with the Yamaha backed Piranha Racing outfit in 2004.

"The R6 proved to be an extremely strong package (this year) and I'm looking forward to the challenge of bettering my championship position of third by having a real crack at the title in 2004," he declared.

The Cheltenham based Piranha team is a partnership between Yamaha dealership Dave Parry Motorcycles and engine tuners Race Techniques

"Race Technqiues and ourselves first got involved with Simon and Red Piranha Racing this year," explained Rob Ferris, from Dave Parry Motorcycles. "He had a fantastic season, establishing himself as one of the best 600 riders in the country. We have now stepped up our involvement in the sport and are totally committed to giving Simon the best shot possible at the Supersport title."

"We will be utilising the same R6 bikes used by Simon to such good effect this year. This allows us to consolidate the work we have already undertaken and continue development throughout the winter," added Andy Colbourne of Race Techniques.

Andrews was consistently the top R6 rider in 2003, taking a best finish of second at Brands Hatch.
