Monstermob Ducati's Sean Emmett is still king of the hill in the second free practice of the day at Brands Hatch in the second round of the British Superbikes with Michael Rutter on the HM Plant Honda and Dean Thomas on the Sendo Ducati making up the top three.

The riders of British Superbikes were glad to see a nearly dry track for the second and final practice in preparation for qualifying tomorrow. With a dry outlook for tomorrow and Monday's racing, the riders were finally able to make their last minute adjustments.

Again the joint championship leader, Emmett, only needed a handful of laps to set the fastest time of the field on his Monstermob Ducati, with Rutter close behind him on his four-cylinder Honda. Rutter's Japanese team mate, Kiyonari, who has never raced in this country before two weeks ago, managed to set the eleventh fastest time. Thomas on the Sendo Ducati took the third fastest time.

Yukio Kagayama, who claims to be only at 80% fitness following his accident last season at Cadwell, went fourth fastest ahead of his Rizla Suzuki team mate and joint championship leader John Reynolds.

Glen Richards set the sixth fastest time aboard the top Hawk Kawasaki, with his team mate Scott Smart tenth fastest.

Virgin Yamaha riders Tommy Hill and Gary Mason produced the seventh and eighth quickest laps with their very experienced team mate, Steve Plater, in twelfth.

First qualifying will take place at 10.45 tomorrow (11/04/04), with the final qualifying commencing at 15.15.
