Sean Emmett, on his Monstermob Ducati, stayed true to his word and broke into the 45secs during the second round of BSB at Brands Hatch final qualifying.

In a late flurry of action John Reynolds put his Rizla Suzuki second on the grid, with his team mate Yukio Kagayama in third and HM Honda's Michael Rutter in fourth.

After claiming he could break into the 45 second mark, Emmett took pole position further from the rest of the field relatively early in the final qualifying session with record breaking 45.811secs. Late in the session, with the pressure mounting, most riders rode their fastest laps.

Reynolds was one of these and after having been displaced into fourth earlier in the final session by Rutter, knew he had a lot to make up. After the first qualifying Reynolds divulged that the Rizla team had made quite a few changes to the suspension set up to try and improve the bikes handling. This had obviously worked as in the dying stages Reynolds managed to set a time just 0.3secs behind Emmett who has clearly dominated all weekend.

Reynold's now legendary team mate Yukio Kagayama put the second Rizla Suzuki into third place on the grid, also in the dying stages of the final session. Michael Rutter, who only managed seventh fastest in this mornings qualifying, makes up the front row in fourth.

This morning's second place man, Sendo Ducati's Dean Thomas, crashed out halfway through the final qualifying but was unhurt. Thomas had enough time to get back to the pits to try and improve on his morning's time. Unfortunately he didn't manage a faster time in the final session but his morning session time was quick enough to see him in fifth for tomorrows grid.

Neither of Hawk Kawasaki's riders, Glen Richards and Scott Smart, managed to set a faster time than their morning's time, and so line up tomorrow shoulder to shoulder in sixth and seventh respectively.

HM Honda's Japanese star boy Ryuichi Kiyonari managed to improve on his disappointing twelfth from this morning and will start in eighth.

Stuart Easton, who fell trying to improve his time from this morning late in the final session, will start in ninth place with the Superbike Cup contender Jon Kirkham, who also fell during the session, in tenth.
