Leon Haslam has returned to the top of the times in the final free practice session at Cadwell Park as Kawasaki machinery locked out the top four spots.

The JG Speedfit Kawasaki rider lost top spot honours to Jake Dixon during Friday’s FP2 session but after trading best laps with both the RAF Regular & Reserves Kawasaki rider and Danny Buchan on the FS-3 Racing Kawasaki it was Haslam who held the fastest time at the chequered flag with a 1m 26.303s.

Buchan claimed second in FP3 despite a tumble off a Mansfield with three minutes of the session remaining while Friday’s fastest rider Dixon had to settle for third place as he manages an illness. The top three all produced impressive long run pace with the favourite tag set to be placed on the trio this weekend.

Haslam’s JG Speedfit Kawasaki team-mate Luke Mossey darted up to fourth place to see Glenn Irwin on the Be Wiser Ducati as the strongest challenger to the ZX-10RR riders at the Lincolnshire circuit – but half a second off Haslam’s top time.

Buildbase Suzuki’s Bradley Ray continued to demonstrate his return to front-running pace with sixth place in FP3 ahead of Anvil Hire TAG Yamaha’s James Ellison – a winner at Cadwell Park 12 months ago – with Ricard Cooper (Buildbase Suzuki) and Peter Hickman (Smiths Racing BMW) rounding out the top ten.

Josh Brookes, winner of three of the past four Bennetts British Superbike races, narrowly missed out in 11th place for McAMS Yamaha fighting back from a crash in FP2 with Moto Rapido Ducati’s Tommy Bridewell in 12th.
