Knockhill BSB - Free Practice (1) Results

Josh Brookes picked up where left off from Brands Hatch as he opened up top in first free practice for round five of the 2019 Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Knockhill.

A four-time race winner this season, Brookes was in impressive form from the off in Scotland as he pumped in a 48.001s lap on the Be Wiser PBM Ducati.

With only one second covering the top 19 at the notorious compact venue, Brookes was only 0.014s up on Danny Buchan on the FS-3 Kawasaki, while local hope Tarran Mackenzie made it three manufacturers inside the top three on his McAMS Yamaha.

Invigorated by his podium run at Brands Hatch, Dan Linfoot was fourth best on the Santander Salt TAG Yamaha, while Scott Redding – making his Knockhill debut – was an encouragingly quick fifth best.

Christian Iddon headed up the BMW challenge on his Tyco machine in sixth, ahead of Suzuki pair Luke Mossey and Bradley Ray, while Peter Hickman and Glenn Irwin completed the top ten.
