Royal Air Force Recruiting has put some of the BRDC 'Superstars' through their paces at the Officer and Aircrew Selection Centre at RAF Cranwell in Lincolnshire.

Eight of the young drivers spent a day at the home of officer and pilot training, getting a taste of what it takes to join the RAF, with the day comprising of a range of activities from paper-based problem solving through to physical teamwork exercises.

The drivers undertook a multistage fitness test, with Tom Blomqvist the top scorer by reaching level 14, while Tim Bridgman was the best performer on an aptitude test normally undertaken by prospective pilots - scoring eight, with the best possible score being nine.

"My thanks to Sqn Ldr Harris and her team at RAF Cranwell for a brilliant day," BRDC Superstars director Tim Harvey said. "It was well organised and perfectly conveyed the importance of both leadership and being part of a team to our young drivers.

"They have all learned valuable lessons about themselves and their colleagues which will serve them well in the tight knit environment of a racing team."
