British Touring Car Championship organisers TOCA has cancelled one of Welch Motorsport's racing licences after the team withdrew one of its car for this weekend's round seven at Knockhill.

Under the TOCA BTCC licencing guidelines an entry unused for an event during a season will void the TBL licence, expect in unavoidable circumstances.

In a statement released by TOCA, it read:

"Due to the withdrawal from the Knockhill meeting of Car No. 12, Welch Motorsport, the Administrator has subsequently cancelled the TBL (TOCA-BTCC Licence) associated with that entry forthwith."

Andy Wilmot has driven the number 12 Welch Motorsport Proton Persona machine this season with a best result of 20th in race three at Thruxton. Wilmot and Welch Motorsport was absent from the last round at Snetterton two weeks ago and it is likely that he will sit out the remainder of the season.

The team will enter a sole Proton at Knockhill for regular driver Daniel Welch.
