Handy Motorsport is set to reveal its all-new British Touring Car challenger and driver combination for 2016 season later this week.

The Swindon-based squad is gearing up for its third consecutive campaign in BTCC after moving up from the Renault Clio Cup UK and will unveil a 'proven touring car race winner' who will drive the team's new car for the new season, along with a fresh livery.

Team principal Simon Belcher says he's thrilled to have finalised his team's plans for the new year and is hoping to make a step up in the BTCC ranks after taking a handful of points finishes in 2015. Belcher is also aiming for a two-car attack with either himself or an experienced competitor in last year's Toyota Avensis.

"Everyone has been working so hard behind the scenes to get our 2016 plans to the position they're at now - this week is when we can finally go public," team principal Simon Belcher, "It really is an incredibly exciting time for Handy Motorsport, we've enjoyed two fantastic years in the BTCC and now we've gained a foothold the time is right to turn things up a notch.

"We're very excited to be competing with a newly built car this year, but the biggest development is bringing in a proven winner to lead our challenge. We're confident, when the unveiling takes place, there will be a lot of happy faces among our fantastic fans, and fans of the BTCC in general."

Handy Motorsport is expected to official reveal its 2016 challenger and new driver at the Autosport International Show on Thursday 14th January.
