Honda driver Dan Cammish has been handed a 30-second time penalty for committing a false start during the opening British Touring Car Championship race of the day at the Brands Hatch finale.

Cammish appeared to creep forwards in his grid slot at the start of the race before the red-lights went out. A message from race control promptly followed during the race, which stated the incident would be investigated after the race.

The Honda Civic Type-R went on to secure his maiden win ahead of his team mate Matt Neal, but has subsequently been given a 30-second penalty after being adjudged to have committed a false start.

Team Dynamics have appealed the decision, which is currently being heard.
