Eurotech Racing has confirmed it will not compete in the 2019 British Touring Car Championship.

The Honda squad finished sixth in the 2018 overall teams' championship as well as guiding Jack Goff to two BTCC victories this season.

However, the team, which has been owned by Jeff Smith since the 2015 season, has decided to sell its two Honda Civic Type-R machines and TBL licences to another outfit.

“I am incredibly proud of our team and what we have achieved and this has been a very difficult decision to have to come to, but we have been left with no choice, unfortunately," said Smith.

“One of our major sponsors, ICD, is currently unable to continue with the level of support they have been contributing.

“I would like to personally thank all of our team and drivers for their hard work, and our sponsors, technical partners and fans for their support throughout the past four seasons.”

Brett Smith, son of team principal Jeff, took pole position at the Brands Hatch finale on what proved to be team's final outing in the series.

Eurotech won the BTCC drivers' title with Andrew Jordan back in 2013 during the time it was owned by former driver Mike Jordan.
