Darren Turner has had 20 seconds added to his race time for the opening race of the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship at Knockhill.

The SEAT driver had crossed the line in second place behind team-mate Jason Plato but was given the penalty for slowing the field behind the Safety Car to give Plato more of a buffer from the rest of the field.

As a result, Turner drops to tenth place on the results, with Matt Neal promoted to second place and Gareth Howell taking the final place on the podium.

Turner will now start race two from tenth on the grid but with the ballast he would have carried for finishing the first race in second.
