World Series by Renault newcomer Comtec Team United Kingdom unveiled its 2006 livery during a brief shakedown of its two Dallaras at Snetterton, although the paint scheme still bears some familiar elements.

The all-new pairing of World Series rookie Edwin Jowsey and second year driver Alx Danielsson put both team cars through their paces, and were able to complete the shakedown without encountering any major problems. Danielsson also managed to run in the 57-second bracket around the Norfolk circuit, posting times inside the outright lap record, satisfying team boss Jonathan Lewis and the staff who have worked hard over the last few months preparing for the squad's most ambitious venture to date.

The new livery reflects the backing of online gaming brand, which sees the sidepods and rear wing swathed in black, while Danielsson's 2005 sponsor Metro was also visible in a green band on the Dallara's airbox. The Comtec influence remains, however, with the familiar blue-and-yellow nose section carried over from the team's FFord and FRenault contenders.

The new-look Comtec cars will be in group action for the first time next week, when the series stages its first pre-season test in Barcelona on 22-23 March.
