Team Rosberg's Jamie Green has set the pace on day one of official DTM pre-season testing at Estoril for Audi.

Completing 127 laps in the 2015 specification Audi RS 5, Green set a 1 minute 32.774 second lap around the former Grand Prix circuit, which put him a full four-tenths clear ahead of anyone else after the first day of running.

2013 DTM champion Mike Rockenfeller was the closest to Green's day one benchmark in second as the Phoenix man racked up the most laps [156] of any driver throughout the session in second.

Green's margin over Rockenfeller in second was all the more impressive considering the top-eleven times could only be separated by less than a second.

Early signals from Mercedes indicate their 2014 troubles may be behind them as Paul di Resta and Pascal Wehrlein set the third and fourth fastest times respectively.

Mercedes' revised C-Coupe did improve their fortunes slightly at last season's Hockenheim finale but it remains to be seen whether the Stuttgart manufacturer's can build on their positive start.

Mattias Ekstrom was the next man in the order in fifth position ahead of Canadian Bruno Spengler, who was the top BMW M4 driver in sixth.

DTM rookies Lucas Auer and Maximillian Gotz ended their first official DTM running for Mercedes nose-to-tail in seventh and eighth while Adrien Tambay and Augusto Farfus completed the top ten for Audi and BMW, still within eight-tenths of the pace.
