BMW has shaken up its DTM driver line-up for 2016 with Augusto Farfus, Timo Glock and Maxime Martin changing race seats.

Farfus will leave the RBM team after a four-year stay with the squad in the German touring car series and moves to MTEK team alongside Bruno Spengler. Glock is heading over to RMG alongside 2014 champion Marco Wittmann and Martin completes the merry-go-round by leaving RMG to take Farfus's place at RBM.

Back in December BMW had confirmed it would be retaining the same eight driver line-up for 2016 in DTM but hadn't firmed up its selection for which drivers partnering which teams. As a result of the changes, only Schnitzer squad retains the same driver line-up from last year with Antonio Felix da Costa and Martin Tomczyk.

"It's always been our philosophy to vary the line-ups within our four DTM teams, and get the absolute maximum out of our overall package," Jens Marquardt, BMW motorsport boss, said. "We have had very good experiences in this regard. Because of this, we are confident that we will achieve success again with the changes for the coming season."

Like BMW, Audi has also retained the same eight driver line-up but Mercedes is yet to announce any of its line-up for 2016, with questions still surrounding reigning DTM champion Pascal Wehrlein who is strongly linked to a Formula 1 race seat with Manor.
