Lucas Auer has powered to his second win of the 2017 DTM season to strengthen his lead at the top of the standings at the Lausitzring.

The early championship leader led home his HWA team mate Robert Wickens to help Mercedes secure a dominant one-two finish ahead of Audi's Rene Rast in third.

With the majority of Auer's nearest points rivals heading into the race languishing down the order, the Austrian now enjoys a commanding lead at the top of the table.

Second and third for Wickens and Rast both marked their first podium results of 2017, the latter of which scoring his maiden rostrum since joining the DTM late last season.

While Mercedes and Audi monopolised the majority of the top-ten, BMW continued to struggle around the Lausitzring circuit.

However, Maxime Martin did manage to salvage fourth as the lead M4 driver, albeit as the only BMW to make the points paying positions.

Mike Rockenfeller completed the top-five order for Team Phoenix ahead of Mercedes duo Gary Paffett and Edoardo Mortara in sixth and seventh.

Team Abt Sportsline's Mattias Ekstrom was eighth aboard his Audi RS 5 while Maro Engel and Jamie Green rounded out of the top-ten in ninth and tenth.

Defending champion Marco Wittmann was unable to progress from eleventh place starting slot and subsequently dropped out of the points contention in thirteenth.
