Barnaby Pittingale didn't need to start the final to be crowned champion in the eighth round of the 2010 Easykart UK Senior Heavyweight class after an imperious season in which he won half the finals.

While the other three classes in the Easykart UK umbrella all had to sort out their title battles in the final round of the 2010 series at Forest Edge in Hampshire the Senior Heavyweight class was all but decided before a wheel had been turned.

Championship leader since the start of the year, Pittingale took part in qualifying before choosing to sit out the heat, pre final and final, safe in the knowledge that even the points for last place would be more than enough to clinch the title with plenty of room to spare.

With Pittingale watching from the sidelines Mark Lawrence won a thrilling final to snatch second place in the championship, one point ahead of Tim Hill who finished second in the final race. But even with the win Lawrence was 24-points behind Pittingale with Hill two markers further back in third overall.

Simon Mace, the third player in the fight for victory in the final, took third place after leading the first half of the race with Roland Breadner a close fourth and Gary Poynter leading home a three kart battle for fifth that also included Adrian Ricardo Batty and Jamie McKay.
