The biggest espionage controversy in F1 history saw allegations that McLaren gained technical information from Ferrari after former engineer Nigel Stepney spread information to McLaren’s Mike Coughlan, while Renault was also accused of acquiring confidential McLaren information. FIA excludes McLaren from the 2007 Constructors’ Championship and hands out a record-breaking $100 million fine.
