Here is our report from the Chinese Grand Prix...

Perez takes a strong eighth place for Racing Point, ahead of Raikkonen's Alfa Romeo and Albon, who charged through from the pitlane in what was a brilliant drive. He fended off Grosjean by just a second at the end to claim the final point on offer.

14 April, 2019 - 08:50

Gasly scores his best result of the season so far for Red Bull in sixth - and he did indeed snatch that extra point having set the fastest lap of the race on the final tour. He finishes ahead of Ricciardo, who gets off the mark for Renault in seventh place.

14 April, 2019 - 08:48

Vettel takes a distant third place to score his first podium of the season on a pretty poor day for Ferrari, in which it failed to find the pace to challenge for victory.

Verstappen finishes fourth for Red Bull, ahead of the second Ferrari of Leclerc in fifth.

14 April, 2019 - 08:47

Bottas comes home to make it a Mercedes one-two, which is the team's third consecutive one-two finish of the season! What a start to 2019 it has been for the reigning world champions.

14 April, 2019 - 08:46

Hamilton crosses the line to take his second win of the 2019 season. He claims victory at the Chinese Grand Prix and F1’s 1000th race, having passed Bottas at the start and controlled the race from there on in.

14 April, 2019 - 08:44

Hamilton begins his final lap...

14 April, 2019 - 08:43

Red Bull pits Gasly (who has enough of a gap for a free pit stop). Is he going to try and nab the fastest lap point from Vettel?

Leclerc's day seems to be going from bad to worse. He reports he has a problem with the gears. That might explain why he has been unable to catch Verstappen as quickly as expected.

14 April, 2019 - 08:36

"Did Leclerc get the fastest lap?" asks Hamilton. Is he considering a late bid for that extra point?

14 April, 2019 - 08:34

Leclerc has now reduced the deficit to Verstappen down to 10s but he is running out of laps to challenge.

14 April, 2019 - 08:31

So with less than 10 laps to go Hamilton leads by seven seconds from Bottas, with Vettel four seconds further back in third. Verstappen is a distant fourth, with Leclerc attempting to catch Verstappen. The gap currently stands at just under 12s.

Kvyat becomes the second driver to retire from the Chinese GP.

14 April, 2019 - 08:24

Vettel easily passes Leclerc (who is on much older Hard tyres) along the back straight as he moves back up to third place. Leclerc now pits to take on Mediums.
