Ferrari has announced that it will launch its 2011 F1 challenger in the final week of January prior to the resumption of testing at Valencia on 1 February.

Although no further details have been released by the team, it is expected that the launch will follow tradition and be held at Ferrari's Maranello base before the car heads to Spain to turn its first laps alongside the rest of the grid.

With the full Ferrari workforce now back at the factory after the festive break, the team has confirmed that the new 2011 chassis has already passed a series of crash tests, which were held in the days prior to Christmas.

Before the launch of the new car, Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa will make their first public appearances of the year at the annual Wrooom event, which will be held next week in the mountains of Madonna di Campiglio.
