Pedro de la Rosa says he is unsure what his future will hold after completing his testing duties with tyre supplier Pirelli.

The Spaniard has been linked to the backmarkers after his early departure from Sauber last year, having since held the role of test driver for Pirelli as it completes development work ahead of its return to F1 this season.

With his Pirelli deal ending this month following the conclusion of a two-night test in Abu Dhabi, de la Rosa has been left to evaluate his options for the season ahead having been linked to the vacant drive at Hispania Racing - although the financial package needed to secure the seat could rule him out of the equation.

Should no race seat be available, de la Rosa insists he would be prepared to return to a testing role similar to the one he held with McLaren for a number of years, with his experience of the Pirelli tyres making him an attractive option to teams for the 2011 campaign.

"The truth is that I don't know what will happen next," he told the Spanish radio station Rac1. "In January, the contract with Pirelli ends and my priority is to find a seat in Formula One.

"If I don't race, then I would be happy to continue in F1 as a reserve driver but I'm not close to any teams - even McLaren. This is an important time for my sporting career."
